two audrey two ( Little Shops Of Horrors )
April 30, 2024

been a while since i watched little shops, and when i did, i gotta say. its a fun classic. yeah. amazing puppetry. .... if anyone decides to do a remake reboot of the movie and discard practical effects puppet and animatronics in favor of cgi, i will beat your ass. right until you turn into a warm stain upon the earth.

so i was compelled to make a twoey of my own. two of twoey. one to keep for myself, and the other to be given for friend jasper. this was a VERY experimental project for me, having to do tecniques i havent done before in feltings. and if i recall correctly... this is the first of where i use pipe cleaners instead of paperclips for bones for the sake of having that bending function. hm. nontheless it was a joyous project.
and just to be fully be in the mood vibe for making her, i made myself listen to nothing But the soundtrack the entire time during until completion. ive started hating those songs by the end of it.

WIPS

w1. cut pink w2. stitch pink w3. pillow pink

starting out by doing something i had no idea what i was doing but hey thats how anyone learns anything. lucky it all turned out alright. the. making little clam shapes for the basis of head.

w4. pink pot w5. color mix w6. wet head

as the skeleton is forming, might as well get the skin started going.

w7. leaf flats w8. mouth hold w9. pot cover

w10. stem hang w11. stem pipe w12. stem fork

roll up sheet into tube. shove pipe cleaner into tube. basis of the stem.

w13. sew pipe w14. clamp stem w15. thin head

so i figured i need to loop a pipe cleaner around each jaw side, then sew it against the jaw to make sure it stays firmly attached. and then i saw that because i had to pretty much squish the whole thing against the pipe cleaner, it made it too thin for my liking...

w16. purple head w17. purple side w18. lavender pot

so i made the head fatter. and took the chance to add even more lavender inside for smell. plant inside plant. go figure.

w19. pot stuff w20. roll vine w21. pot sit

w22. stem skin w23. head skin w24. leaf shape

well now that everything is getting put together at satisfaction, i can now begin putting the skin on.

w25. gummy mouth w26. lips mix w27. lips on

the gummy gum mouth works.

w28. wet tongue w29. tongue on w30. tooth pile

as well as other parts of the mouth. each orange seed side tooth i had to pinch the wool and stab together one at a time. prime time for self stabbing.

w31. teeth on w32. leaf pile w33. head leaf

and now comes the REAL fun part- the leaves. wetted them out then refined the shapes. the vines were rolled wetly then stabbed to keep shape compact and for any bendings.

w34. first vine w35. four vines w36. first leaf

w37. big vine w38. eat camera w39. eat kiss

plopping the leaves right in there and then... done.

w40. stab counter

stab counter: 203. yknow i actually thought ill be going at this for a lot longer thats why theres all that extra space of the note card being all squished together.

when i was putting the teeth on, i had to arrange them in a way that they do not align jaw to jaw so that when the mouth is closed all the way, the teeth wont get in the way of each other. also am quite proud of how the red webbing of the head hurned out. yarn i tore apart, but not all the way.
