I made this horse for my babushka. she likes horses.
always asks me to change the tv onto horse videos.
I hope she can get joy on having this little one around.
... thats all the reason here.
ive decided to go for a dapple grey coat because theres a handful of wool that gotten these little tangles
which would be perfect for being the little white snowflake dots of that coat type.
and also just more visual interest than if just a solid color. yknow how it is.
alright got some dirty wool to act as the filler and then build up the basic horsey shape of body
layer and layer, curve after curve.
then wet felt the skin, just a couple layers to hold it all together, then delicately put that afermentioned tangled stuff on top.
then let it air dry as i go constructing other parts of the horsey.
legs. 4.
decided to put socks on some of the legs, so i had to be careful of blending the colors together and then wind it
around the leg as i stab it in place.
sure it might have been easier to put the skin on the leg and then attach the leg to body, but sometimes
i just wanna see if i can to the opposite of attaching first then skin. probably easier when i gotta put the tile on later.
theres a general rule that hoof colors are determined by surrounding fur, so for the legs with the white socks,
they got light hoof. as black legs get dark hoof.
ending the day by making a stone sit on the back legs so that they can remain straight. shrugs
probably completely unnecessary.. but juuuust to make sure the fibers dont curve out awkawrdly.
finally able to put the skin on. theres stages to it rather than just plopping in on all at once. and gotta make sure its secured in one area before diving onto the next area. how else is it to be done?
making a gradient of grey. ... greydiant. of that would be mane and tail. as the dapple grays also got some mechanics to how those hairs work in regards to color. i quite like how theyre blonde like that. gives good contrast.
ears. 2.
gotta refine the shape of the hair tiles.
putting a binder clip on the mane to make it go down. looking like a chicken comb.
putting tail and eyes on.
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand done. putting broken rubber and clip back on the mane to keep its shape until i do later photos.
93 stabs for 2 days. not bad..
getting at all the different angles and views. despite not having bone supports, the legs can hold a bend somewhat.
about 8 centimeters tall and 13 centimeters long.
sleepy bye bye
gave the horse to her when i was done with the photos.
babushka was very happy.
gave a kiss on the nose.
of course one day cosmo decided to take the chance and use horsey like a toy. had to fix up, though wasnt too damaged.
