geoduck
January 14, 2024

ITS NOT A MAMMALIAN WEEWEE I SWEAR THIS IS AN ACTUAL ANIMAL THAT JUST LOOKS LIKE that LOOK IT UP.

geoduck is a clam that likes to stay under salty muds and is pronounced as "gooey-duck", a lashootseed word from the common language of the coast salish people who have and still are the original people of the lands here.
the goos have the habitat range of pretty much hugging the entire side of the pacifics coast of the northern continent.

made this for someone at first initial meeting... rubs bridge of nose as i fix this page 2 years later... i should have just kept the clam for myself... what shall be shall be.

stuffed in some rosemary and lavender ive picked from side of the roads and kept to dry. smelly.

WIPs

w1. lump w2. bag w3. stuffed

get a core going, and then use some of the craft sheets to make a lil bag thingy.
stuff the bag with the smellful plants, and then stuff with the core.

w4. pieces w5. cover w6. color

after both parts are together, add another layer to keep everything together, as well to give more. girth.
then spent some time mixing palette together. one part being the shell, other being the soft fleshy.

w7. shell fluff w8. shell wet w9. shell hang

get wettings of the shell going on, since its gonna be a large area covered,
i might as well make a tile to slap over the body as is.
now i didnt need to put all TOO much time and effort in beating the shit out of the wool,
just beat them enough so that the fibers stick together when i hold up the tile.

w10. flesh fluff w11. flesh wet

then do the same with the fleshy siphon bit.

w12. tile pile w13. tile size w14. skin on

w15. shell front w16. shell back

i rather liked the pattering of the shell, so heres both sides of it while its still flat.

w17. shell flat w18. shell stuff w19. shell hump

before i get to putting the shell on the shell, i thought it needed more shape. so i put a little hump in, with more plant.

w20. shell taco w21. shell stab w22. shell on

w23. skin skell w24. fleshed

get the shell on. at the middle gap, filled in with the fleshy part that peeks out.

w25. tip flat w26. tip on

because if the animal isnt phallic looking enough, i gotta put in some anatomical details to where the siphons are siphoning.
a way to filter seawater and release gamaetes to the seawater.

w27. pinch w28. pog

yeah.

w29. stab

at a 41 stabs. and took only 2 days. wee.
