bird nests pile
August 4, 2024

been at it to make little doodads of things i can potentially sell off if i manage to land a vendor table. not many folks display feltings. probably a reason for that.
bird nest! surely thats something cute folks would want. put it in a little bonsai or. whatever else comes to mind.

p1. fluff pile p2. dry first p3. wet first

p4. gacha caps p5. second dry p6. third dry

i had some gachapon capsules so i thought i could use the caps to compress and mold the little tiles into the shallow bowl shape as a nest is. shrugs. didnt really act as i expected, but ill keep the method in mind for later.

p7. first bowl p8. three bowl p9. first batch

while the caps are pressing down, i jsut started manually punching in the bowl shapes.

p10. second batch p11. tear notch p12. next bowl

realized itll be easier for me to get the 3Dness of a bowl shape going if i tear a little notch open, then fold the notch into iself.

p13. caps open p14. capless tiles p15. cap bowls

well turns out pressing the caps together just sort of. crumpled the tile in without actually maintaining the dippings. had to manually shape it out yet again.

p16. first egg p17. egg pile p18. first laid

well to make the nests look like a nest there gotta be someone in it. time for eggs. the oblong tube shapes are so i can fold over and stab the middle into the nest. that way itll look like theres 2 eggs. its all an illusion.

p19. first chick p20. chick pile p21. done pile

well i do like having variation so now theres gonna be what comes out of the eggs. little pink naked gummy candy sort of fellas.

p22. pile cup p23.pile display

p24. stab counter

stab counter: 119. geeze.

p25. desk pile p26. shine nest

p27. nest close p28. nest size

yeah thats all.
