hey have yall noticed that ive been chewing on Phantom Of The Paradise a lot for this year?
yeah.
chewing and gnawing and gnashing and ripping and tearing.
this fucking movie. i hate it so much. why do i love it so much?
its hypothetical. i know why.
yeah so. this thing. I MADE NOT ONE BUT TWO BECAUSE "heehee what if i made two instead of one.
wont that be funny?"
people will all be like "what the fuck is this thing?" and then i throw out another one at their dismay.
the idea all started from this single drawing i did while waiting for the bus.
and then when i got home i immedietly went to bring this idea alive.
i have not let them outside the room for as long as i could have beared it.
i do not need any photos of them out. the world does not deserve to befell the collective endless gaze.
step one. bwals.
step two. put skin on the bwals.
step three. consider all things that have led up to this point in my life and if i REALLY do wanna continue with this task.
so leaches helmet has this little curl at the back that in trying to
translate it into wool, was really kicking my ass about it.
had i gone to make the helment out of wettings first, it would have probably saved me SOME effort.
so by the time i gotten to the beak part of his mask, thats when i
pulled out the soapy water and bubble wrap. fuck it.
and then patted it dry to then shape it up into that curled beak shape.
yeah.
kinda look like whale flukes.
neat.
get the fuckign boots on.
before i went and starte punking the mask onto the helmet, i went to put the detail of winslows scar.
eyes are always the biggest challenge of any felting. i had to build
the eye from the ground up while also remaining flat. because f i slap the stuff directly onto
the face it would just. bulge outward. and that would just look weird.
and i had to make sure the fibers dont dig into the colors of eachother. i dont know how else to explain.
and do it twice!. thank goodness leachman was half blind so i only HAD to do it twice instead of four times.
the sclera of the eye has some licks of pink and orange in there.
because if it was just white, then he wouldnt get that bloodshot thousand yard stare.
and wheres the fun in that?
yeah the eye is a bit big for the face, but it was actually in good benefit for me!
because in the act of attaching the eye to the face, i would have to push the fibers of the eye into the fibers of the mask.
and that overall shrinks the eye.
using the needle to push and prod the individual strands of wool.
done.
shame.
postpartum grief.
heres the stab counter. 75. average. shared amongst the both of leach.
GOODBYE
